Will I still be able to have a social life in college if I go into Biomedical Engineering?

I got accepted in the School of Engineering at the University of Iowa, and at first I was really excited, now I am almost worried. I have had two generations of family go to Iowa, and they always talk of having an absolute blast--going to football games, tailgating, and just making the most interesting friends. I'm just scared I won't get that experience with constant studying. I just want to know will I be able to balance the ridiculously hard classes of engineering and a social life?
