How do you change the lift support cylinders on the tailgate of a mercedes ml320?

My 1995 E-320 has two 10 inch springs supporting the boot lid. If you have support cylinders in your boot, you should be able to loosen the clips at either end with a tiny screwdriver. Don't lose the assembly parts. You may have to partially compress the support cylinders to achieve the correct re-assembly length.
