Off-duty cop flashed his badge at me?

So early this morning, I was driving to work and some asshole started tailgating me. It was just a little 2 lane road and I was already going almost 10 over the speed limit, so I got pissed off and brake-checked him (not hard either, just enough to slow down for a second). It was just some guy in a green truck, as far as I could tell. When I slowed down to turn into a gas station, he made a point to slow down beside me and flash a police badge while I was turning. When I parked, he parked a few spaces away from me, like he was going to do something and then left before I got out of the car. Could he have given me a ticket for slightly brake-checking him when he was being a ******* douche? Last time I checked, it's illegal to follow to closely as well. It's a shame that some cops can't even uphold the law themselves.
