Setting up a tackle box.(for waters in the south)?

I live in the lowcountry of South Carolina and my boyfriend lost his tackle box(he left his tailgate down and it came out). I was looking online and trying to find some tackle for him and basic things that i could get him started with to at least go back out and fish but I dont want to buy something that wont be relevant in the waters here...ya know? like a lure for a fish we dont even have in our area...lol he fishes both salt and freshwater, mainly he fishes in rivers, or ponds. nothing to far out. he says he catches just simple pan fish, crappies and things like that...alot of bass. So maybe some things specifically for bass fishing? and then some other basic things...i dont know. thats why Im asking! So help a girl out :) Thanks.
