Where I live and where I travel to the Speed Limit on most of the superhighways is 55. But most of the cars?

are doing about 70. If there's a police cruiser in the mix he's usually going faster than everybody else - about 75. If there's no police in sight there's always quite a few people doing 80. If anybody is actually doing 55 they're a sure thing to be tailgated. The word on the street is that the police don't ticket you unless you're way over the Speed Limit. Considering all this wouldn't it be fair to say that in America the 55 Speed Limit is a very strange, strange thing that requires a lot of interpretation?
