My car jerks when accelerating?

I just started experiencing this problem yesterday. I drove for about an hour between my old home and my new home and then as soon as I got off the beltway for some reason when I would press down on the gas pedal, my car would jerk a bit. The engine didn't turn off and the car kept running, but for some reason everytime I would hit the gas pedal (wether it was hard or soft) the car would kinda jerk. I left it parked outside overnight and just took it for a test drive not to long ago and now it seems to be working just fine. I'm kinda confused about what could've caused that issue last night and I'm supposed to be doing a lot of driving in the next few days. The last thing I want is for my car to die out on me in the middle of the highway. I don't really have the kind of funds to fix a car right now that has any severe mechanical problems. So I was just curious as to what this could possibly be. By the way, the car is a Saturn Ion 2006 model and it has over 120,000 miles on it.

You run that motor at 6800 for long and your gonna be buying a new motor soon. You want to be the bad *** on the street - hook your go cart up with a chain saw motor running straight in-line to the axel. That bad boy will be turning at more like 10,000 rpms without blowing. Problem will be low hp which means slowing down going up hills but this can be compensated for by running duel engines- one motor for each back wheel. Takes a little trial and error to get them running in line but you'll be leaving your friends in the dust. Wear a freaking helmet cause mine does every bit of 70+.

I drive a 1998 suzuki Sidekick sport with 2000 chevy tracker engine in it, its been running fine up until this point however it has recently started to stall after I drive it for a few dozen miles and then come up to a stop. So i know cars are supposed to get optimal gas mileage at 55 mph. for most commuter cars at least but i have a nissan frontier with an open bed and tailgate up. i've driven this thing for 3 years now and record every fuel up religiously. i've found whenever i get on the freeway and stay above around 70-75 i get around 21 mpg but as soon as i drive 55 for the whole trip i get about 19.5. i'm wondering is it coincidence of my trips follow this trend or is there some truth behind it. i usually leave for these trips at like 4 am so traffic is not an issue its been the same route and i fuel up at the same gas station before hand(costco). all highway. same distance. cruise control.

first check to see if the distirbutor is timed with the rest off the motor then check to make sure your distributor advance is hooked up i had this same problem but i fixed mine by messing with the idler adjustment which should be on the throttle cable near the carb or throttle body.

I don't know anything about vehicle mechanics. Why does the rider need to ease out the clutch to the friction zone and apply throttle? (if the clutch is let out without throttle the bike stalls). all i know about clutch is that when the clutch is in, there is no communication between engine and transmission.

I have a 1987 Nissan pickup with a 2.4 liter z24i engine. I am putting on a new cylinder head because the old one was warped. Prior to dissasembly I marked the timing chain and the cam sprocket so that I could preserve my correct timing, and immobalized the chain by jamming a wooden wedge so that the chain was locked against the tensioners. ( I had hoped I was only going to be swapping out a head gasket) So the main crank and the timing chain have been immobile this whole time. Obviously the valve positioning has been altered since I have a new head. BUT it occurs to me that since the camshaft has a knockpin that fits into the only whole on the cam sprocket, will not the valvetrain return to it's original position once I align the marks I made on the cam sprocket and the timing chain? If so this would save me a LOT of labor since I would not need to remove the timing belt cover to re-establish the correct timing. Am I correct?

Should the Pledge of Allegiance be Changed?

It amazes me that people can look at the pledge of allegiance, and the thing they come away with is a hang-up with the words 'under God'. We ought to pay more attention to the rest of it. I was on my way home from work last saturday, going down quite a steep hill, the limit was 60mph. I must have been doing around 64mph and passed a lay-by with a police car there. OK, so I was driving on Interstate 95 in Georgia today, there were three lanes of traffic in each direction. The speed limit on this section was 70 mph I was in the far left lane, as I generally like to travel around 78 mph. I usually stick to the middle lane but was in the far left because I was passing a couple vehicles. Anyway, there was a car flying up behind me flashing their brights at me as it was approaching. I don't know what they wanted me to do, because I was in the process of passing several vehicles. I maintained my speed for awhile, and several times they kept flashing me and were tailgating me. At this point, they had thoroughly pissed me off so I stayed in the left lane even after I passed the slow cars. Finally, they passed me on the right, and got back in front of me and slowed down. I went to pass them on the right and then they sped off into the distance. What I was wondering is, who was in the wrong? I think it's just plain rude to flash lights at the car in front of you, it's not a good idea to do that you really want them out of your way. It just pisses off people like me. I'm sorry, but I was going almost 80 mph, which is plenty fast enough for an interstate.

What the hell is copyright?

It is understandable that copyright can protect people's descriptions of their idea whether on paper or anything else. But how does it specifically protect it? For example, someone learned grammar, vocabulary etc. and how to form neat sentences from books. The books have copyright, and eventually this person that learned from that book might somewhere use a very similar expression, forming of sentence or even word to word to another idea. Where does copyright lie here? Can't someone read a novel and memorise a lot of sentences and use them time to time because they eventually become "his" words? Should I remove the resonator from my cars exhaust?

Some replacement pipes actually delete the resonator from the system, so other than a small change in sound it will have no affect on the system. As far as welding up holes in the pipes, if they are rusted out to the point of having holes forming in them the metal will be extremely thin in those areas and welding the holes shut will be all but impossible. If your going for a DIY kind of fix you may need to cut out small sections of the pipe and replace them. Get a rough idea of the cost of the DIY in your head then call around to muffler shops and decide if the savings if any is worth the time of doing it yourself.

43cc engine wont start?

Mine would have to be a 1990 Mercury Sable Wagon that I bought off the front lawn of a frat house when I was 18 for $100. It had about 190k miles on it and it's brakes blew when parking in my driveway one evening thanks to the fact that the whole car was just rotting away. My best friend grew up in a home with an abusive father. When I found out about this, I pledged to myself that I would be the friend and male figure that she always needed and deserved. Engine trouble in a jeep liberty?

I started my car today and it was fine. However when I started driving there was a loud whirling sound coming from where the gear shift is. The sound became louder and faster with the faster I would drive. I checked my oil and it was very low. I added 2 quarts but its still making that sound. I'm very frustrated because Mozilla Firefox, the only browser that works for me, refuses to start up. So I'm trying my hand at Internet Explorer 9, which is doing nothing but infuriate me. I have set Google as my default search engine, yet anytime I type something into the address bar, it searches for it in something called Questbrowse, which never yields absolutely anything useful at all. Attempts to install google toolbar have failed miserably (mainly I agree to run the toolbar, then any and all windows related to it dissappear and nothing happens). Any help to get rid of questbrowse? It's driving me insane and I don't want to have to go to google.com every time I want to search something. Thanks!

Problem with the FI light on my Vulcan 900 custom 2008?

I own a Vulcan 900 custom 08. The bike is great and has been running good but a few deays ago when I went to turn it on the FI light came on when I tried to start and a weird clicking sound. The bike will not start. The starter doesen't even crank. When I flip the kill engine switch the clicking sound goes away, when I turn it back there is no change , only when I try to start the engine thats when the clicking sound comes back and the FI light starts to flicker. Hope this is not to confusing.

I was told I was going 45 in a 20mph zone and that the officer was having to go 40 to pace me since he was tailgating me I made sure to watch my speed per my car it said I was going 22mph and the speed limit sign said it was 25 not 20mph he waited 2 blocks to pull me over until I was turning onto another street. When he gave me the ticket he left off the posted speed, actual speed, and cited speed which I find awfully convient that when I got stopped for going 45 he would leave that info out. I have never had a ticket not saying I never speed but when a cop is riding your rear you watch your speed and this guy didnt leave 6 inches between us I know a pacing ticket is hard to beat but when I wasnt doing anything wrong I would hate to take traffic school and pay the fine.

93 toyota celica gt oil leak problem?

The car has a 2.2l 4cyl. engine. A little while back I was trying to jump off a friend's battery and noticed a bit of smoke coming from under the hood. I looked under the hood to notice that there was oil on the motor closest to the front of the car right next to where the oil dipstick and oil filter are. When I got home I tried running it for a while to see if I could locate the leak's source but after about 20 minutes of running the engine I gave up thinking that it was maybe just some temporary freak accident. I took it to a shop and talked to a guy there and he said that it is possibly blowing out of the dipstick tube due to a possible clocked pvc valve. So I replaced the pvc valve and thought the problem was fixed until we drove it the next day and again saw smoke from under the hood. Do you think its possible that it is still blowing out of the dipstick tube? or is it possible that the seal around the oil filter has worn out and is causing it to leak from there when the engine is revved up enough? The car is on about it's 3000th mile since the last oil change so I know I need to change it soon I was just curious if anyone had seen a problem much like this one and how they overcame it because I would hate to go change the oil and just lose it all due to some leak I can't find. While I was trying to locate the leak I did try to rev up the engine to see if it was pressure that was causing something to leak like it is. Can anyone help? If more info is needed just let me know and I will fill it in accordingly. Thanks all

98 blazer a/c is having problems HELP!!!!?

Its extremely hot where I live, well the a/c when i first start the truck runs fine, but not the best. after keeping the engine running for about 1 hour worth of driving, the cold air stops, and its kinda like a window unit when you turn off the compressor, it just blows normal air. I popped the hood and touched the compressor in the truck and it was realy hot. well i turned the a/c off and drove about 30mins and when I turned the a/c back on it blew cold air. i stopped and opened the hood and the compreesor was cold again. im confused, can it be a bad compressor? HELP ASAP!!!!!
